Chocolate & Nut Festival

Autumn in the Adelaide Hills conjures up delightful and delicious things to do - one of which is to visit the Chocolate and Nut Festival held at the Heart of the Hills Market. Chocoholics cannot miss this event as there will be free tastings from confectioners around the state as well as an interesting selection of nuts and dried fruits available from local producers.

For the real chocolate "nuts" there will be a chocolate competition to test your taste buds and of course prizes of chocolate for those who win.

The Chocolate and Nut Festival will be held over the Mother's Day weekend (May 12th & 13th) so you can spoil your Mum with a great selection of chocolate or you may want to choose something else from other traders at the Heart of the Hills Market , the Old Woollen Mills, Lobethal.

So come on up to the Old Woollen Mills between 10am and 4pm on Saturday 12th May and Sunday 13th May for a day of feasting on life's little luxuries.

It is said that the experience of eating chocolate can cause a lift in one's mood.

Scientists have been studying this effect of chocolate for years and have discovered over 300 known chemicals. Among these are various different stimulants including caffeine, that increase the activity of neurotransmitters in the brain that give us that jolt associated with coffee. But that does not entirely explain that certain euphoric sensation chocophiles the world over experience at the first bite, sip, or crunch off all things chocolate.
